It appears that one of the more popular categories of computer games fall into the simulation category. It is common to see people of all ages sitting engrossed in playing games like Microsoft’s Flight and Train Simulators for hours together. The development in computing power has resulted in the development of simulation software that provides a realistic look to the things seen on the screen. This realisms or fidelity is keeping pace with the increase in computing power with developers trying to bring in more detail into the topography, the cabins, and cockpits in simulation games.

Simulation has better uses than gaming and is a part and parcel of many industries and occupations as a part of training people. Many high-risk industries like aeronautics, aviation, nuclear power generation, and medicine use simulation in training their personnel in many areas. Due to the inherent nature of many of the jobs in these sectors, the associated industries have benefited greatly by using simulation rather than on real-life scenarios. There are many advantages associated with simulation training.

They include the cost factor, the introduction of emergency situations at will, and the flexibility it offers in terms of location and space. A simulation is a powerful tool in the sense that trainers can incorporate all of the above-mentioned elements without the actual danger and risk that accompany it. There are several areas of debate that have risen ever since simulation-based training began to be used.
