Managing 24-hour Work Environments s The secret to controlling a 24-hour work environment by managers is to develop and use virtual teams. Because the managers may not physically available at work for 24 hours, virtual teams would be appropriate for helping the manager plan and control the work environment (Cascio, 2000). Due to the importance of teamwork in today’s business world, it is crucial for managers to realize the importance of intercultural skills in managing team members. To manage a 24-hour work environment, the manager must have various skills and attributes that will ensure smooth management of the virtual teams.

Therefore, the manager must ensure that there is cross-cultural collaboration among the members of a virtual team (Krumm, Katrin, & Guido, 2013). The first step in controlling a 24-hour work environment is for the manager to develop a team. The team should have members who can self-direct and execute multiple tasks at the same time. The manager should build a high performing team by first, ensuring that all members are aware of each other’s cultural norms. Team building events may be helpful in this context.
