MUSIC AND MOBILE TECHNOLOGY The music industry is one of the industries that have been adversely affected by the development of technology. We have seen music industry develop from public performance and public payolas to unrecorded crowdfunding of albums (Williams & Webster, 2008). Technology has brought a major revolution in the music industry. Technology has contributed to social networking, digital distribution of music, mobile technology, crowdfunding and recording equipment that are affordable (Williams & Webster, 2008). All this has encouraged the growth of the music industry and in return most of the artists and musicians have been able to carve a career niche in the music industry. We have seen applications that help in pitch correction, instruments tuning and mobile recording. In addition, the music fans are able to enjoy music at a greater extent. Technology has also made music to be more affordable for the music fans. One of the major contributors of music evolution is the mobile technology (Katz, 2010). This technology has brought conveniences to hundreds of millions of people. There is a great correlation between music, mobile technology and social media. This is a major source of revolution. Every day new software and applications are developed to enhance the music quality. Technology has therefore turned the people not only to just mere listeners, but music makers (Childs, 2011). Therefore technology and music will always co-exist. This paper is meant to discuss the possibility of creating a plan for a new music-related application. The Alpha Music Studio What it is and what it does The Alpha Music Studio is one of the applications that are meant to bring a revolution in the music world. This is an application that helps to organize music and music albums. The application will be installed on any device that uses an android, Microsoft windows, and Apple windows among others. The application will be able to split a piece of music into different components. It will also help the listener to listen to different components of music. Some of these components include the instrumentals, sol-fa notes as well as the vocals. In addition, the application will able to split the vocals into different voices. The application will have a speech-to-text component that is able to convert the audio sound into visual lyrics. With all these uses I believe that the application will have a number of users that will take the music industry to the next level (Van, 2009). The targets The application will have a number of targets. I believe it can be used by a number of people. The first group that is being targeted is the music directors and producers. The application will be able to split large music files into usable lengths. In addition, the splitting of the audio files can help to eliminate the silence intervals. The splitting of the audio files is very important because it helps in editing of music files, especially when they are in their raw state. To add to this, the music directors and producers will be able to use the application in enhancing music clarity (Childs, 2011). The vocals and instrumentals function will help them in getting the music clarity before production. The function will also help in refining of a song at its initial production stage. The application will also convert a song into sol-fa notation. The sol-fa and staff notation is important to the instrumentalist as well as the vocalists (Katz, 2010). In essence, this can lead to production of better music. Secondly, the application will be targeting normal listeners. A listener will be able to enjoy the music as he reads the lyrics of the song. This will be made possible by the fact that the application will be having a speech-to-text component. In addition, the listeners will be able to listen to any component of the music that they want. This means that they will be able to listen to the whole audio song, the instrumental only or the vocals only. This will give the listener a variety of components to enjoy from the same song. The application will help in organization of music and music albums (Van, 2009). Lastly, the application is targeting those people that have a hearing impairment. This person can be able to enjoy music through reading the lyrics even though they are not able to listen to it. In addition, those with hearing impairment can be able to get the information in the audio files. This can be very useful to the students who are deaf and dumb (Katz, 2010). How the application relates to the job it is hired for This application will be very important and effective for different people who use it. Most of the music producers, directors as well as musicians are keen to listen to a piece of music (Williams & Webster, 2008). They are after different components of music. Therefore, this application will make their work to be simple because they can able to disintegrate any audio file and get any component they need from the audio file. In addition, the speech-to-text component is able to capture over one hundred and fifty languages in the world. This shows the efficiency of the application. The main competitors In the current music world, there are many software and applications that have been made. Some of these technological innovations will be a major source of competition for my product. As a matter of fact, our application is an improvement and an innovation from some of these applications. I got ideas from some of these applications. One of the major competitors will be the music splitter applications. These applications are able to split the audio files into considerable lengths. Most of the people are familiar with these applications. Some of these software and applications include the MP3 cutter, Split the Beat and Split n Play among other applications. Alpha Music Studio will encounter tough competition from such music splitter applications. This is because one of the major functions of my applications is the splitting of the audio files. All notwithstanding, I believe that our application will be far much better than all those other applications because it will be more advanced. For example, our application will be able to split the audio files at the silence intervals. Secondly, the application will face competition with the fact that most of the songs are produced with lyrics. Our application is meant to use its speech-to-text component to assist in getting the lyrics that one is listening to. In addition, we have some software and applications that are able to create lyrics of audio files. Some of these applications include the TalkTyper, VoiceNoteII and Dragon among other applications. But it can be noted that our application is more superior to all these applications. This is because our application will be able to capture and come up with the lyrics despite the tempo of the song. Most of the above applications cannot do this because the tempo of the song must be slowed down a bit. In addition, our application can be able to come up with lyrics by using one hundred and fifty languages. This proves the superiority of our other product because the other speech-to-text applications can only be able to use a maximum of five languages. To add to this, most of the text-to-speech are online applications. This means that the devices must be connected to the data. But our application will have an in-built language database, therefore there is no need for a data connection. Lastly, we will face competition from software and applications that are able disintegrate the audio files into sol-fa and staff notations. I still believe that our application can still thrive in the market because it is database is well updated, therefore it is better than the other software and application. I believe that this software will be way too superior to other applications. The application can therefore be able to compete favorably with these applications. The application has a high chance of prevailing in the market. The application will stand out as a unique application. This is true owing to the fact that the application will be having many components integrated in one application (Katz, 2010). Major players and companies The application will have to use devices that can support android, Microsoft windows as well as apple windows operating systems. In addition, we will have to liaise with software and application developers who can be able to develop applications that can fit our specifications. With this in mind, we need an outstanding application developer. After an intensive research, we settled for Creative Excellence. They are an award-winning developer who I consider to be the best developers in the world. In addition, they are able to develop software and applications across a number of platforms (Van, 2009). These platforms include the android, Windows, blackberry and iPad platforms among others. The application will be branded Alpha Music Disintegrator. We will contact Telco Systems in Mansfield in Massachusetts to provide us with telecommunications systems. It will be necessary to hire TechyHeads Software publishers because they already have a reputation in the field of music. This company is located in Greensboro and we believe that they are equal to the task. How the application will make money. I believe that this project will be a viable one. The world has always found economic solace in music; therefore any application that makes the music better is highly marketable (Andersson, John & Sons, 2006). The music applications became the third most popular application in 2012. This means that the application has high prospects of succeeding in the market. The application will be marketed through various application stores like the apple store, play, store, windows store and blackberry store among others. One of the ways we can register higher revenues from this application is by targeting enterprises rather than the existing consumers (Andersson, John & Sons, 2006). Secondly, this application will make money by upsell of freemiums. This means we will have two versions of this application; a free one and one that has to be paid for. The free application will have links that would help a user to the premium application. Thirdly, the application can make money through In-App Purchases. This will allow the users to unlock features. We will therefore be able to make some money from this. Fourthly, we will have a Cost per Install mechanism in the web marketing world. This means that the users will have to pay some amount of cash per any installation made. We will make this cost to be about $0.90 to $5.25 per installation. Fifthly, the application will help us raise money through advertisements. Though these adverts pop-up can be annoying to the users, we will still use this approach to raise revenue. We will have to use the iAds and Admob networks as our advertisement networks (Andersson, John & Sons, 2006). We therefore look forward to earning through cost per click and also cost per thousand impressions. Lastly, we will be looking forward to earning from sponsorship. This is the best way we can get high returns from this application. This will also help us gain brand credibility from our application users (Andersson, John & Sons, 2006). How I will advertise the application I will have to advertise this application using a number of ways. To start with, I can start a blog where I can attach my microsite. I will write captivating content that will attract people to my application and website. Secondly, I will apply for awards. I believe that my application can be an award-winning application (Williams & Webster, 2008). Any success would attract the press and therefore my application would be in high demand. Thirdly, I will create a 15 second instructional series. This will be a “how-to-series” that will be very helpful to all the potential customers. Lastly, I will integrate the application with the social networks like the Facebook, Twitter and Instagram among others. We can share the content in these social Medias. Conclusion I believe that the application is a big blessing to the music industry. The listeners, music producers, musicians, sound and music engineers will enjoy having this application. I believe that every person in the music industry will become more efficient and effective in their area of specialization. It will be observed that the music industry is just about to explode to higher heights. Inventions and innovations have given people a different approach to music. This application has many components built into one application. I therefore expect that we will see a great improvement in the world of music. Statistics have shown that the demand for music applications is highly growing. The above statistics show that the Alpha Music Disintegrator has high prospects of succeeding in the market. The world is exponentially growing in terms of technology. The music industry must therefore embrace technology. I believe that this technology will make music more interesting. I also believe that the application will give a new dimension to the music industry. The application will create more and better musicians and music producers more than ever before.
