The benefits of innovations and their adoptions have led to its introduction even in the public sector. The report also quotes Van de Ven who added the aspect of a ‘champion’ in the context of technological innovation and their adoption. He stated that the presence of ‘champion’ is necessary for bigger social units to ensure that innovative ideas penetrate the culture of the organization or the system. He also stated that the adoption of innovation involves strong and efficient networking among various individuals.

Transactions occurring due to the process of innovation take place through various channels which lead to networking among various individuals associated with a particular process. The author termed this phenomenon as the process of diffusion. He also added that innovation is not possible without the aspect of diffusion that occurs at a macro level. The report also states that the adoption of new innovative technology is being constantly observed by various organizations as an analysis of the possible positive and negative outcomes of a particular innovation that has been prepared on the basis of information gathered from various sources.

Adoption takes place only when the analysis of the results generates a positive outcome in the business process of a system or an organization. This also helps to eliminate the numerous intermediaries which tend to increase the time span with regards to the flow of information. The presence of a large number of intermediaries not only increases the time span needed for completing a task, but it also leads to distortion of information.
