Extract of sample "Milan Fashion Week from 23rd to 30th September 2009"

The Milan Fashion Week which ran from 23rd to 30th September 2009 had its share of fashion strikes organized by various Italian designers.
Alberta Ferretti’s delicate femininity, chiffon, and romantic dresses floated on the catwalk and casted rage on the ramps. “While the designer did relent a little by creating a few belted no-frills dresses and ensembles in beige and ivory, it was in her lingerie-and-sexy-nightgown-inspired numbers that she showed her complete mastery (Ghosh 2009).”Blumarine has always shown a bit of a romantic stance, however in the last few seasons, the brand transformed its lines into accessible and sophisticated clothing for open women. The proof is this autumn collection – bright and striking – “oranges, pinks, and yellows clash with and complement each other at the same time, creating an eye-catching collection, always retaining a wisp of romance (Ghosh 2009).” There are ensembles in beige patterns, interpretations of military outfits, and numerous combinations of seaside motifs.

Bottega Veneta always minimized the chic, but Tomas Maier knows how to take advantage of this image. This Italian fashion house comes exclusively in cream, with white or straw intermingling here and there. “Small, bright accents in magenta, green, yellow and black give the pieces a modern edge to clothing inspired by Karate clothing (Ghosh 2009).” Maier has mastered the sport elegance, which he confirms with light-weight jackets, asymmetrical necklines, shorts with rolled hems or short tight sheath skirts with small slits, and finally t-shirt-cum-sack dresses. The woman wearing Veneta is entirely independent and does not slave to popular fashion and Maier delivers her the clothes and accessories to recreate her look: unique, versatile, dignified, but most of all sensual.
