Assignment 2 Details Supervisor East London is a part of England that is constantly and rapidly growing but there is as well a desire for the region to receive healthcare that is both affordable and easy to come across. It is for this reason that there have been numerous projects that have come up trying to give the region better health care than what is available. Kent Community Health NHS Trust is one of the groups that has come up and is one of the projects that has been started to cover the health of the city. The Kent community Health national Health Services Trust provides a wide-range of services related to good care for individuals in a community irrespective of the location; the homes, wellbeing facilities, group healing centers or actually nursing homes (Abubakar, Shakya & Forey, 2012). The project has a goal and a vision that it will be able to be ‘the provider of choice by delivering excellent care and improving the health of our communities.’ The issue that plagues the community in East London is that the people are not given the best healthcare that they should, and this is an issue that the Kent Community Health NHS Trust strives to give them. The trust aims at providing the best healthcare services that are available and give the community a picture of the way in which proper health and social care should be provided to them. East London is in the northeastern part of London, United Kingdom. Although this region is not officially defined as East London, it has its origins from 1720 as part of London that was ‘Beyond the Tower.’ It is located in the lower Thames valley. The river, Thames, that is present in the area acts as a boundary that splits the different sections of the area. Lea structures the limit of Tower Hamlets/Hackney with Newham/Waltham Forest; the roding which structures the utmost of Newham with Barking and Dagenham/Redbridge; and the Beam which structures the farthest point of Barking and Dagenham with Havering. The lowlands along the Thames which once reached out from Wapping to Rainham are pretty much completely gone. It is with this in mind that East London pertains to London Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Newham. The region has a large amount of history that bubbles within the area. There is the London Hospital that was used during the First World War and was even used before then. Victoria Park as well is such a historical figure, in that the area is the same as it was during the First World War and has not undergone any changes that would affect it. Furthermore, the region is not just one that is full of history but as well as culture and art. Most people that have been in the region would say that the area is one that has a very vibrant nightlife, however, it is not just about clubbing and art. The region is energized with all kinds of culture life. The area is littered with theatres, classical establishments whereby people may go for some soothing music and comedy clubs where one may relax and enjoy some comedy (Newland, 2008). Furthermore, there is music in the region. London has been known for its emerging musician and East London is no exception. It has a growing number of musicians that are bursting with energy and musical prowess. The region has a growing number of people that are demanding people to have better lifestyles. This demand ensures that people have a better life in their life. The major health issue that is plaguing the region is that the area has a decreasing level of health services that are offered to the people. The key issue of the region is that the subject is important because the people need to be treated as though they are the people that are part of the workforce that helps in the building of East London as a region. In the study of the people and the region it is seen that the people of East London do not get the best services that they can afford. However, the people believe that there is nothing that is changing the view that the people have of the way in which they are served. In a bid to confirm that the services that were offered by the company and the project were not just by word of mouth, a data collection exercise was carried out. The organization was chosen based on the fact that it was one that was present around the country and this making some of the outlets and premises of operation were easily accessible. Furthermore, the project and the organization claims to have a greater outreach to the people that they serve; serving close to a total of 1.4 million patients while hiring 5500 members of staff (Ballat & Campling, 2011). This therefore made the company prime for analysis. The key issue that is prime is that the project is one that serves the people and deals with the most pressing issue of human life; health. The data that was collected was collected by means of observation and the filing in of questionnaires by the patients and the staff that work at the project. The data collection was carried out over a period of three days during which the organization allowed me to take notes about the things that I saw and learned. The data that was collected at the end of the project was some that was more than conclusive. The data that was collected was encouraging. The Kent Community Health NHS Trust is one that is geared towards ensuring that the community gets the best services out of the organization and maintain their health. Furthermore, for the staff and the patients that are served by the trust, the project acts as a form of home where they may go and interact with the people and even offered their services to the organization (Greenhalgh, Humphrey & Woodard, 2011; Gusmano, Rodwin & Weisz, 2010; Hanson, Ranson, Oliveira-Cruz & Mills, 2003). The data further showed that the organization was growing by the by the day and the services were not negatively affected in the process. The data showed that the organization was carrying out all their work with their values in mind (Kent and Sussex Courier, 2014). The collected data showed that the patients that were showing up at the hospital were not as a result off the increasing mistreatment that they undergo, but rather it was as a result of the increased level of skill and commitment that the organization was offering to them. The Trust’s popularity was due to the increased word of mouth that came from previous patients and people that were cared for (Pollock, 2005; Pope & Mays, 2006). Furthermore, the data that was collected was to one that was meant to take a look at the way in which the people would be treated in the region. The method of data collection was one that ensured that there was no bias towards the organization but it was very open and fair. The fact that the data was collected by means of observation and questionnaires ensures that the collector of the data was at the location and it was easier (Ackroyd, 2008). The Kent Community Health NHS Trust is an organization that caters for the needs of the people of East London and they Make sure that they give the people the feel of the way in which the health that they do not seem to be getting from their regular hospitals and clinics are not the same as those they are offering. The organization acknowledges the fact that there are people that cannot access medical and clinical help from their regular clinics and hospitals and therefore there is the need for the people to ensure that the values that they work by are evident of their commitment. The society has need for healthcare that is affordable to the people that Kibe in the society. This is a major issue because there is little to no affordable healthcare services in the region for the people. The Kent Community Health NHS Trust works on values that they have set up for themselves that will be better for the people that will be served (Pattison, 2010). The values that were enacted by the organization in the project pushed the public to believe that the Trust acts with professionalism and integrity by (Kent Community Health NHS Trust, 2014). These are the values that the organization would live by but there are those people that would argue that there is a difference in the way in which people are treated. The organization believes that by ensuring that they maintain their values, they will be aiding in the setting up of the company’s ever growing popularity. By giving their focus on the community in East London, the organization strategizes to ensure that the people do not have to go far so as to receive the medical help that they cannot regularly get in their neighborhoods (Londoncouncils.gov.uk, 2014). The importance of this issue to the local people is that the company will be taking a look at the way in which the people would like to be treated by the people that are around them and that there is the desire to ensure that they get the best. The locals will get the feeling that society has not neglected them but considers them as paramount parts to the growth of society that should not be ignored. The local people do not seem to believe that the medical services that they are offered are for free; they assume that there is a string that is attached to the services (Low, Sterne and Barlow, 2001). However, the people are the least deterred by the services. They believe that they are being treated to the new way of life that they were not used to seeing in their society. East London is filled with people from different walks of life and they have their own needs and wants and those that seem to be new experiences as others are accustomed to them, but the treatment that is offered by the Kent Community Health NHS Trust cannot be paralleled by any other organization. Regardless of the way that London is heading the nation out of retreat, it is not lifting the populace of London out of destitution. A report suggests that close to 28% of the people of London are in poverty and the Kent Community Health NHS Trust is looking to help and maximize on this fact (BBC News, 2013). The health organization looks to offer services to the people at the prices that they can afford while still being able to cater for the people that are part of the society. The locals are not just left to be the people that are catered for by the organization (Young and Willmott, 2007). They are as well the same people that would help in the propagation of the services. The people are involved by volunteering to get jobs in the organization so as to convince the people of the community that the organization is friendly and that they too can help in the creation and development of the organization. There are the people that would argue that the organization is a ploy to get free and cheap labor from the community but it is a means to create an awareness; a unity between the people and the services and treatments that are offered (Kenner et al., 2007). The locals can be involved by giving the organization a survey of what they think of the services that are offered and the things that they would like to see changed. In doing so, the locals do not necessarily have to be part of the organization, they can just give their feedback on the services and this will build the organization. From the study, one gets to realize that there is a need for there to be better services to the people that will aid in the development of the people in their health. The key issue that came to light in the project was the levels of healthcare that is offered to the people of East London and it further moved to the unemployment issues of the region. The issues that are brought to light are the trials that the people of East London are exposed to. Healthcare should not be a luxury but it should be something that is a basic need for the people in the region. Healthcare is a major issue in East London and with the people being treated by the Kent Community Health NHS Trust, there are a few things that the company is working towards to ensure that there are accurate and easier ways to cater to the people. The Kent Community Health NHS Trust has employed a rather ambitious attempt to cater to East London. The strengths to this project is that the people have not been able to receive the level of healthcare that they offer. This makes the approach to the people easier because they are offering something different to the people. Something that they have never had; something different. However, with this as strength, it may act as a weakness. This is because, to the people, the project may seem too lucrative for them to believe it is real and therefore they may approach it with the thought that there is a hidden agenda to it and this it may not kick off as smoothly as possible. Furthermore, the project’s aim of helping in the offering of healthcare will act as an employment technique to the locals. This is because, in a bid to offer the services to the people, the project will require that there are people that will be used in it, and thus employment opportunities. A recommendation that one would like to be made to the organization is that they should further reduce the costs that would be occurred by the people and even try to make the services offered free to the people. Despite the fact that people may see this as a ploy to something deeper, it will be a step to gaining the people’s love and trust. References Abubakar, M., Shakya, A., & Forey, K. (2012).
